Program Director Clinical Research ( BSCR )

Description Under the general direction of the Chairman of Clinical Research, the BSCR Program Director initiates and maintains planning for the program, manages and implements curricular and student service initiatives, and ensures superior quality of the Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Undergraduate Clinical Research (BSCR) Program.  This position is vital to the success of the program in the following areas: recruitment, retention, advising, service, teaching and management.   The Director will engage industry partners and liaise with faculty/staff within the Department of Clinical Research, CPHS and University.  The Director of the BSCR Program will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct advisement, pre-registration, registration, and drop/add periods, including training of faculty/staff Monitor and track electronic course evaluations, grades by mentors of students and evaluation by the students of the mentors; and, communicate potential issues to the Department Chair Assure timely and accurate submissions of grades for students Review and modify grade rosters as required Initiate a continual review process for the BSCR curriculum and engage faculty/students in improving course syllabi Secure BSCR program schedules (Fall, Spring and Summer) with the Registrar's office Ensure timely delivery of textbook orders for each semester Ensure timely delivery of academic rosters for each semester Recruit and Retain adjunctfaculty for the BSCR Program Maintain all Blackboard sites for the BSCR Program Secure all final degreeaudits for graduation in conjunction with the Registrar's office Ensure accurate BSCR information for academic bulletin Maintain accurate curriculum maps for all BSCR students Ensure proper classroom space allocation for all BSCR courses Maintain departmental SOP's pertaining to BSCR matters Coordinate Senior Presentations with faculty assigned to teach CLNR 416/420 Departmental/College committee participation as assigned Assist Student Success Dept. with workshops (interview skills, resume, etc...) Direct and maintain experiential software and/or databases relative to mentor and student directories, evaluation tools, placement and requirements Initiate regular reviews of existing contracts/letters of agreement between the Department of Clinical Research and internship sites.  Develop new contracts/letters of agreement and renewal as needed with University Legal Counsel Recruit and develop new internship sites for the Department of Clinical Research (off hour travelrequired)  Compile and distribute internship handbooks, grading rubrics, as requested  Edit and update mentor manual on an annual basis  Host internship meetings in order to train and define intern expectations Direct the recruitment efforts for the BSCR program Others duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Clinical Research and/or by the Dean of the CPHS Participate in Departmental, College and University recruitment events Participate in undergraduateorientation, BSCR orientation, visitation days and open house (including weekend and evening events) Direct and advise the Clinical Research Club, its executive committee and members Develop and maintain alumni tracking system All Other Duties As Assigned   Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Excellent written communication skills for preparing correspondence, documents and reports, SOP's, utilizing correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively dealing with a broad range of individuals at various levels within an organization  Administrative experience with abilities to set priorities, organize and coordinate an office operation, anticipate needs, work under the pressure of deadlines and exercise good judgment, particularly with sensitive or confidential matters  Strong self-motivation skills for independently establishing effective working relationships with various organizations and faculty and staff at all levels of the organization and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team  Related analytical and administrative experience in an executive-level office  Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars Experience with standard electronic word processing, spreadsheet, calendar and email programs; familiarity with database programs   Requirements/Qualifications Bachelordegree with experience in higher education Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written communication skills Strong verbal skills Experience with Office (Excel, WORD, PowerPoint, etc..), Knowledge of Blackboard and Colleague a plus Detail oriented Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people Upon hire, obtain a broad knowledge of and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
