POSITION: Graduate Assistant for Donor Relations
DEPARTMENT: Institutional Advancement
STATUS: Part Time, Beginning January 2019
Purpose:
The purpose this role is to assist the Assistant Director of Advancement Administration and the Coordinator of Donor Relations and Stewardship. This Graduate Assistant's main focuses will be in the areas of special events, stewardship, gift acknowledgement, and donor relations.
Responsibilities:
Assist with regular donor communication including:
Gift acknowledgement letters that are sent daily
Disbursement of annual reports
Donor Honor Roll
Impact Report/University Report
Assist with the implementation and planning of the Donor Honor Roll magazine
Help maintain accurate contact information for endowed scholarships in database
Assist with the compilation and mailing of annual endowed scholarship reports
Assist with the ordering, packaging, and mailing of annual Christmas gifts
Assist with the coordination of Donor related events such as:
Scholarship luncheons for major donors
TAG Day
Christmas at Campbell
State of the University event
Any other events as identified by Advancement staff
Requirements:
The Graduate Assistant for Advancement and Donor Relations must have a flexible schedule to work some weekends and evenings.
Assist with additional tasks when requested from the Vice President of Institutional Advancement
Graduate student must have a strong confidence to be able to help facilitate the planning and implementation of events
Must be dependable and have great time-management skills
Must be able to take direction and act in a time-efficient manner
Must have an outstanding, positive attitude and strong communication skills
Must have a strong interest in serving Campbell's body of donors through the Advancement team
Must be able to carry themselves in a professional, courteous manner when dealing with donors and alike

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
