Staff Ensembles Accompanist

POSITION: STAFF ENSEMBLES ACCOMPANIST
DEPARTMENT: MUSIC
STATUS: PART TIME, TEMPORARY (August 22, 2018 - April 25, 20178
This position may be filled by more than one person. An audition will be part of the interview process.
Summary:
The Campbell University Department of Music is seeking applications for a part-time collaborative pianist to accompany vocal ensembles. The position may be filled by one person or shared by more than one. There may also be the possibility of studio voice accompanying.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as accompanist on the piano for the University Choir, and/or Campbell Voices, and/or Opera Theater, and/or the University Choral Society, and/or Collegiate Singers in rehearsals and performances
Ability to work well with the vocal ensemble directors. Experience as a choral accompanist preferred
Ability to sight read well is preferred
Willingness to assist ensemble directors with rehearsal leadership, i.e. sectional rehearsals
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Music. Work experience or education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Two or more years of experience as a collaborative pianist preferred
High level of technical and musical accomplishment on the piano, determined by an audition
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
Flexible schedule and willing to in a changing environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
